In a surprising turn of events, Nicolas Brice Moumi Ngamaleu has been called-up to replace François Regis Mughe in the Indomitable Lions squad ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The decision was made by the team’s technical staff, led by head coach Rigobert Song.

According to a press release sent this day 4th of January, by the Lions’ press officer, Thierry Ndoh, Moumi Ngamaleu is expected to join the squad on Friday, January 5th. The Dynamo Moscow player will be participating in his second Africa Cup of Nations, having previously represented Cameroon in the 2021 edition.
The news of Moumi Ngamaleu’s inclusion comes amidst speculation surrounding the absence of young talent François Regis Mughe who plies his trade in french club Olympique de Marseille, as regards his absence.
