Ekaney, a second-year journalism student, campaigned on a platform of inclusivity and accessibility, garnering broad support from his peers.

“This is not just my victory; it’s a victory for every student who has ever felt marginalized or overlooked,” said Ekaney in his acceptance speech. He has been an active advocate for disabled students’ rights and plans to push for better campus accessibility and increased awareness of their challenges.

Dr. Muki Fuh, head of the Journalism Department, praised Ekaney’s resilience, while Vice-Chancellor Professor Theresa Nkuo-Akenji emphasized the university’s commitment to inclusivity. Ekaney’s leadership is expected to bring positive changes and inspire many within the university community.
