Media professionals from across the country gathered in Yaoundé on June 6th for a quarterly meeting of the Network of the Malaria Media Taskforce. The meeting, jointly organized by the Ministry of Public Health, the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP), and Impact Santé Afrique, aimed to improve the skills of media professionals in reporting on malaria.
During the meeting, the professionals discussed innovative approaches to reporting on malaria and strategies for following up on the implementation of the Yaoundé Declaration, which was recently adopted by ministers from 11 of the most affected countries, including Cameroon. The declaration aims to enhance regional cooperation and coordination in the fight against malaria.
The meeting provided a platform for media professionals to share best practices and learn from each other’s experiences in reporting on malaria. The event also highlighted the importance of accurate and timely reporting in raising awareness about the disease and promoting effective prevention and treatment strategies.
