CAMEROON – MURDER: FONYE DERICK KILLED AT DONGA MANTUNG

Separatist fighters are suspected to have killed the divisional delegate of sports and physical education for Donga Mantung Division In the North West Region of Cameroon earlier this month.

This tragic act Is said to have happened during his return to base in Nkambe, around Ntabah Hill.

According to several sources, Fonye Derick was shot multiple times from the back due to his fear of being stopped by these believed to be separatist fighters. It’s not yet certain if he was a target, but this left the other passengers in the car terrified.

In another report from (Mimi Mefo Info) Dr Edwin Bongaman, relative to late Fonye Derick stresses on the fact that Derick wasn’t fleeing from these believed separatist fighters and debunks the narrative.

It should be remarked that Ntabah Hill, leading to Ndu is one of the most dangerous sites which lodges Amba fighters.Several attacks, kidnappings and killings are reported to have taken place at that same spot. Both the authorities and Amba group didn’t comment on the accident or claim responsibility for the incident respectively.

Late Fonye’s murder is amongst the most deadly incidents Donga Mantung has recorded since the Genesis of the armed conflict in the english speaking regions of Cameroon. He leaves behind a wife, six children ( a month old child inclusive), friends and family to mourn him.
