A tragic accident in the town of Dschang has left many feared dead, casting a shadow of grief over the community.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of June 25, 2024, involved a collision between a passenger bus and a truck on the Dschang-Bafoussam highway. According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened when the bus, traveling at high speed, attempted to overtake another vehicle and collided head-on with the truck. The impact was so severe that both vehicles burst into flames, making rescue efforts extremely challenging. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but the intensity of the fire hindered immediate intervention.
Rescue teams, including firefighters and medical personnel, worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire and extract survivors from the wreckage. Several injured individuals have been transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care.Local authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, focusing on potential factors such as driver error, vehicle condition, and road safety standards.
