The city is getting ready for a unique end-of-year experience filled with hope, as the announcement of the 4th Edition promises a radiant start of the new year.
The multicultural event, known as the Douala Fiesta, aims to make Douala the center of social cohesion not only in Cameroon but also in the Central African Sub-Region. The event, announced on December 15th, will take place in all six municipalities of Douala from December 19th to January to the 1st, 2024.
The end of year event which will be presided over by the Douala City Mayor, Dr. Roger MBASSA NDINE, will see open-air concerts featuring renowned Cameroonian artists and entertainers will take center stage throughout the event, ensuring a well-coordinated and enjoyable experience.
During the press conference the Dr emphasized the importance of community involvement in making Douala an attractive city. He stated, « We are transforming the city and we want the entire population to actively contribute to making Douala a desirable place to live, such as through initiatives like the Douala Clean City Project. »
The Mayor also highlighted the significance of the Douala Fiesta as a platform for social cohesion, promoting peace, love, and harmony as the year comes to an end and setting the stage for success in the coming year, while also creating opportunities for the youths and attracting investors.
Each of the six municipalities in Douala will have its designated event site. Douala I will gather at Bali Parc Des Princes, Douala II at FAMPOU DAGOBERT Stadium, Douala III at Total Manga Japoma, Douala IV at Place Din Same in Binapriso, Douala V at Parcours Vita in Bonamoussadi, and Douala VI at Manoka City Hotel Esplanade.
In addition to the performances by renowned Cameroonian artists, the Douala Fiesta will feature various activities such as quizzes, dance battles, the Miss Douala Fiesta 2023 competition, and tourist tours, among others.
With the announcement of the 4th Edition of the Douala Fiesta, the city is expected to end the year on a high note, promoting unity, entertainment, and community engagement.
