The governor of the Littoral region has extended an invitation to individuals from various sectors to join him in a sport walk on December 2nd. The starting point will be his office at 6:30 am.

This initiative is part of the activities planned for the 8th edition of the « Cameroonian Month » and the commemoration of the 36th edition of the International Day for the fight against HIV/AIDS, which is being observed under the theme, « Let Communities Lead.”
In a communiqué published on November 30th, one can note that, Governor Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua expressed his desire to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise awareness about the importance of physical activity.

The sport walk aims to bring together individuals from diverse sectors, including government officials, civil society organizations, and members of the general public.
According to global sources, 39 million people are living with HIV―68% of these in sub-Saharan Africa. Women and girls comprise 63% of HIV cases, with adolescent girls and young women three times more likely to be infected than men and boys of the same age.

The International Day for the fight against HIV/AIDS is observed globally on December 1st each year. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS and support those affected by the disease.

By organizing the sport walk, Governor Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua aims to encourage physical activity as a means to maintain good health and prevent diseases. Additionally, the event will serve as a platform to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and promote community engagement in the fight against the disease.
