South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol’s envoy delivered an invitation letter to the Cameroonian President for an upcoming summit between South Korea and Africa.
The summit, scheduled for June 4th and 5th in Seoul, is exclusively for UN-recognized African countries.
The invitation formalizes Cameroon’s participation, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two nations. The event aims to strengthen cooperation.
Note, the diplomatic relationship, established in 1961 between both nations, has seen significant projects like the Garoua General Hospital, funded by the Korea Exim Bank.
Previous collaborations include the Yaoundé Emergency Center and plans for a cardiovascular hospital.
South Korea’s summit with Africa is said to signify its interest in the continent’s resources and market, amidst global power competition, emphasizing a collaborative future.
