A devastating fire engulfed the headquarters of Christ Embassy Church in Ikeja, Lagos, early this morning, causing significant damage.
The blaze, which started around 2:00 AM, rapidly spread through the building despite the swift response from the Lagos State Fire Service. Firefighters battled the flames for several hours before bringing them under control. The fire caused extensive damage to the church’s infrastructure, including administrative offices and worship areas. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, as the building was unoccupied at the time. Early estimates suggest the damage could run into millions of naira.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the founder of Christ Embassy, expressed shock and concern, reassuring followers that the church remains resilient. “We are thankful that no lives were lost. Our faith is strong, and we will rebuild,” he stated in a video message.
