The people of the Southwest region have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Head of State. This comes as a result of his speech on new year’s eve as he announced the execution of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the crisis-hit English speaking regions.
Honorable Malomba Esembe, Member of Parliament for Buea Urban Council, and Senator Mbella Moki Charles were among the prominent figures who reacted to the Head of State’s speech. In an exclusive interview with Crtv Journalist Henry Mekole, they shared their thoughts on this significant development.
Honorable Malomba Esembe emphasized the importance of the view of the Head of States.
“What makes it remarkable is the fact that he is aware of all happenings in the different sections of the country. But he stressed on the return to normalcy and called on the youths involved in the crisis to drop their arms…” he said.
Senator Mbella Moki Charles also expressed his appreciation, saying, « after admitting that they were challenges he cautioned his countrymen to face them and be ready to live with them. »
That notwithstanding, he said “ But he never failed to assure the nation that he will provide solutions to those challenges. “
It should be noted the Presidential Plan for Development and Reconstruction aims to address various challenges faced by the regions and uplift the lives of its inhabitants who have witnessed an unfortunate change in living habits, as a result of the longlasting crisis.
